Description: Socks are fun and portable! Learn to knit a pair of socks using our wonderful self striping or self patterning yarn. Skill level: Advanced Beginner - (Must be able to knit, purl and be comfortable knitting a rib stitch.) Materials needed: Sock yarn of your choice and a 5 needle set of double point needles, 4 needle stoppers and an adventurous spirit. Reservations are made upon payment. A full refund is given up to 24 hours before scheduled class time. Cost: $25

Christian Prayer Shawl Ministry of Pierce County 10am - 11:30am
Description: Introducing the Christian Prayer Shawl Ministry of Pierce County! This is a new group that will meet Monthly at Yorkshire Yarns, on the third Saturday's from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. We will be knitting and crocheting prayer shawls to comfort those in need of love and support. You may make a prayer shawl for someone you know or donate a prayer shawl through this ministry to a local agency or church to distribute. Bring your own yarn, needles/hook, and pattern; or we can help you find supplies and a pattern at the shop. *May God bless your hands and heart as you provide comfort to others in the name of the Lord.*

Our 1st YARN SWAP! Description: Have a few 'lonely' skeins of wonderful yarn, and ready mix things up a little? Stay tuned for details on this exclusive exchange! This event is limited to 8 guests.

Design Your Own Sweater 1pm - 3pm
Description: You have a sweater in mind, (perhaps i t is one you saw in a magazine) but just can't find the right pattern.
In this class we learn to take an existing pattern and make the changes needed to get the design we want. We can change necklines, add blocks of interesting stitches and or color, create various sleeves, make ruffles or anything else you may desire. We can also discuss the use knitting software to help make the perfect pattern. In our second class we will analyze and fix problems and look at finishing techniques. Cost: $50 for both classes
Materials: Your Idea (maybe even a picture from a catalog that is sort of what you want), Your accurate body measurements, Your desired finished measurements (the sweater, not you! :-)), Desired yarn and needles, A 20 stitch by 20 row swatch using the yarn and needles of your choice

Description: SOTMC: Sock of the Month Club meets on the third Monday of the month from 6-7:30pm. The cost is $35 each Month and includes a pattern, a skein of the finest of sock yarn and 1.5 hours of instruction. Here's the tricky part so listen closely. You do NOT have to attend club meetings but if you do you'll receive a free skein of sock yarn after 6 punches. Uh…ahem…I mean punches on your attendance card. The purpose of the club is to stretch and challenge sock knitters to new heights. You'll be introduced to lace, argyle, fancy rib stitching, knee-highs, stockings and much more. We'll announce the featured pattern at the beginning of each Month. You may sign-up at any time. Heck. You can even skip a Month or two. To join the SOTM Club you would have had to have knit socks previously.

Knit 2 Socks on 2 Needles - Part 1 10:30am - 12:30pm
Description: Have you ever knitted "A" sock and never finished the 2nd one? That's called 2nd sock syndrome. And I've got it bad! That's why I'm excited about our 2 socks on 2 circular needles class. ***This is part one of a two-session class. The second class is Sat., Feb. 9th at 10:30am.

January Sock of the month (SOTM)

On Monday, January 21st at 6pm-7:30
Liz will teach us how to make the beautiful Figheadh McGuinness Branch sock. Techniques include lace & cables.


The cost is $35.
Students will receive the pattern, 2 skeins of Panda bamboo/wool sock yarn & 1.5 of class instruction to learn the technique.
