We need more time!

*sigh*

Let me sum it up in one word.

LAKEWOOD.

Hang in there with me, people. We need to make the city happy in some areas before we open our doors.

Please give us a few more days to move into our new location.

Thank you for your patience!

Sincerely,
Sonya Acord, owner

We're Moving!

Yep! Finally...we're movin' on up. :-)

The rumors have been flying. The assumptions have been huge. No one seemed to know what was going on.

Well, here's the deal.

We've been back behind that gas station long enough. It's time to get out there and be seen!
So, on May 1st our new address will be
5808 100Th ST. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499.

Here's the best part. It's easy to find!! We're in front and just to the left of The RAM restaurant.
We're right by the main entrance to the Lakewood Towne Centre.

Now listen up. :-)
We won't be there until MAY 1ST
.

In the meantime, you can still come see us at our old place at
7504 86Th St SW in Lakewood.
Our phone number will remain the same so call me if you have any questions.

Y'all are gonna LOVE the new digs. We've got LOTS in store for you.
Stay tuned!

SR Kertzer if FINALLY here!

The new stuff:

FIRST. Remember the toilet seat-birth control-smoke detector lookin'-smoke detector thingies I told about I told you about last week? Well, we're out of the toilet seats-birth control pill holder-smoke detectors thingies. I won't have more till mid April....so they tell me. I'll keep you posted.

FINALLY! We received a new shipment of SR Ketzer! I called the company and asked, "What's up w/my order?" Check this out. They said they tried to deliver it last Friday night at 7:30. WHAT?! Listen. I was home w/my family eating stale popcorn & being forced to watch "Twilight"...again. *sigh* Did I mention we're taking a trip to Forks w/three tweeners during spring break? Somebody help.

Anyhoo, this is part of what came in.

* The weekend jacket pattern & more Marble Chunky is on the shelves. The pattern calls for 4 skeins of the chunky for a medium. At $11.25/skein ya can't beat that in this economy!

* Another really good deal is Kertzer's new Treton worsted weight superwash. You get 222 yards of multi-colored MERINO for only $7. We have six new colorways. Come see! Come see!

Classes this week include:

* Beginning Socks w/Shirley Sommer - Saturday, May 4th & 11th / 10:30-12:30
$50- receive 10% off all your class supplies at registration.

*Beginning Knitting w/Kelli Story - Saturday, May 4th / 2-4pm
$40 - The price includes all of your class supplies and your instruction.

*Beginning Knitting w/Theresa M. - Monday, May 6th 6-8pm$40 - The price includes all of your class supplies and your instruction.

To reserve your spot call 253-589-YARN (9276)

KNIT A GATOR FOR THE TROOPS!

I've got the pattern & yarn in the store and on line.

Can we talk a minute?

Times are tough for everyone. Yeah...I know. That's a "duh" statement. But I want to let you know we at Yorkie Yarns are doing what we can to help folks continue w/their yarn obsession during the economic crisis without breaking the bank. We're going to continue to bring in high quality affordable yarns. We'll continue our classes to match the demands of our patrons. And we'll keep on offering layaway. The Yorkshire Yarns layaway plan has been a huge success because folks are allowed to pay in small chunks to make sure they get the products they want/need without having to worry about them being sold out.

The one thing we can never do w/out is our gatherings of the yarnies. They're extremely fun. Folks continue to join us for knitting/crochet to get away from ...well....whatever. We're planning some new, fun things to add to those activities as well.

Now, here's a side note. Rumor has it many of you have seen our yarn mobile parked near Guitar Center on 38th. Here's the deal. My son Tyler works there and he's on commission. Yes, I know that's a shameless plug but he needs college money. Help the brother out and let him sell you what you need. Besides, he knows his stuff. Ty's the kid on the far right in the orange shirt. :-) The other 2 on the far left belong to us too but we can talk about that later.

Coming Events:

SOUTH SOUND YARN CRAWL- May 15-17. Visit 10 beautiful shops in the south sound for prizes, great yarns and fun!

Circular Sock Machine Knitting Conventionon the UPS Campus in Tacoma- June 8-11th

That's it for me, folks. May God bless you & yours this week.
